A Simple Conviction
Thrive Missionary Collective was born from a simple conviction: missionaries should be supported from their first steps to their final breath.
Through years of involvement in missions, we saw a common reality: financial pressure, housing instability, and a lack of long-term, holistic support for those preparing to go and those returning to Australia.
Founders
Our founders, Tim and Kara Linder, spent years involved in missions and preparing to serve overseas with their family. Along the journey, they encountered a familiar and confronting reality.
Financial pressure, housing instability, and a lack of holistic, long-term support were common barriers for missionaries both preparing to go and returning to Australia.
They dreamed of an organisation that could remove these barriers, allowing missionaries to simply say yes and go. Over time, it became clear that God was inviting them to help build it!
A Growing Vision
What followed was a season of radical obedience and refinement. Tim and Kara sold their home and lived in a caravan for two years, launching small businesses in the hope of supporting a few missionary families.
Their journey was marked by financial hardship, failed ventures, severe health challenges, and repeated housing instability. Yet through it all, God was faithful and continued to refine their character and the vision.
Through prayer, discernment, and many miraculous confirmations, that vision expanded. What began as a desire to support a handful of missionary families grew into a calling to establish a collective that could serve missionaries all across Australia.
Where We Are Now
Today, Thrive Missionary Collective is in its foundation stage: focused on governance, partnerships, and building sustainable systems that will support future housing, training, and support initiatives.
This is not just a charity.
It’s about removing barriers so the Gospel can go further.
And we’re just getting started!
